Life continues on...

I thought it was about time I used some of my scheduled study time to update our blog just incase anyone is still reading....

We're still living at Robert's parents in Tamahere and it's ok. Of course I would love to be out on our own already but we just can't afford it while I'm not working. I quit my job tutoring Korean students in February. I got to busy at university. 21 assignments due in May - what are the lecturers thinking??? They're of course planning to make all the future teachers of New Zealands children nuts. We all were a bit loopy to begin with and well now we're loopier than ever before (if that's possible).

Robert is working at Farrell Bearings in Te Rapa still. He's not particularaly enjoying it and he's on the look out for another job. I hope he gets one soon so we're not both completely loopy. We're both missing Korea a lot at the moment. I think while you're away from home you miss home and everything it represents but we've found that once we're back here you remember all the things that made you want to leave in the first place (if that makes sense). We love being back with our families and I love my course at uni but I miss my students, the hours of work, the money, the lifestyle, and our very dear friends. Suffering from a bit of itchy feet and we've only been back from our honeymoon for 2 weeks.

I'm playing hockey again. I'm just playing socially this time though. No pressure just turn up and play. My body was in pain for 3 days after my first game though having been away for 2 seasons.

Back to school again soon. I'm going to Te Aroha Primary for my next bout of practicum. I'll be teaching year 6 - 7 (10-11 year olds) for the whole month of June. I'm quite excited about it and can't wait to get back out there. I miss working with the kids.

Anyway, that's probably enough blathering on for now. I'll endeavour to update more frequently now.

We're married!

Well our day has come and gone and it was awesome! Loved every second but I can't believe after all that planning that it's over!

Friday I had the day off uni and didn't really do much. Robert was amazing in that last week - running around doing all the last minute bits. So I spent Fri at my mum and dads and the beauty salon. Friday night I sat on the deck with mum and my sisters and drank wine. I slept ok but I woke up at 5am. The cows hadn't even started to be milked yet!

I got up at 6, shaved legs, showered had breakfast and we were at the hairdressers by 8am. Here we relaxed had our hair done and then headed to the make up artist. They all did fantastic jobs and we made good time and headed back for home at 12.

All was going well at home until the videographer and photographer showed up.... then my zip broke. After 30 min of trying to fix it I stood there like lady liberty and my mum and dad sewed me into my dress... and then I fainted. To much heat, arm up to long and not enough water.

Eventually I recovered enough to have photos taken and we left for the chapel. I had no idea that I would be nervous at all but I shook the whole way up the isle (my sisters sang me down the isle) and all the way until we said our vows. You could see my flowers vibrating from my shaking. And then before I new it we were married! I'm still disappointed I didn't get my wedding kiss (I hadn't asked the priest about it and just assumed it would happen and then it didn't).

The reception was great. Lots of dancing. The speeches went well and my grandparents sung a dutch song for me.

Anyway, that's the gist of it. I have no photos yet. I'll let you know when I get some.

Quick Notes from NZ

I hope everyone is well and things are progressing as they should. Robert and I are both relatively fine and very excited and stressed. We've both had our hens and stag dos and we're just about upon our final weekend as unmarried people. Only the bill paying, seating plan and placecard writing to go....

On the non-wedding front Rob has a job as a trainee sales rep for Farrell Bearings and I'm really enjoying my first practicum in a school. We are super busy though so that's why this is so short - I just thought I'd been a bit lazy lately. I will put up some photos from my hens night soon and write about that and the wedding.

Next time I write I'll be a Mrs......

All is good in Tracey and Rob land...

Just thought I'd do a short post to let you all know we're still alive and well. We're just super busy. This time in 6 weeks we'll be husband and wife!!! (excited!!!!!!!).

I've started uni and on my first day I got given my first assignment due the next day. My next assignment is due on Tuesday closely followed by a presentation on Wednesday... where has my life gone??

Rob's frantically looking for a job as our money is consistently dwindling with large wedding bills still to come.

We are well on our way with the wedding plans and only have the details to finalise and most of those are coming together nicely with a lot of collaboration with our families.

Anyhow, no major news but we have people who are coming round for dinner so I best get offline and go and make myself presentable.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well as most of you know Rob and I have made it safely home to a lovely (though not that warm) NZ summer. I did send a Merry Christmas email but I was in a rush so I apologise to those people I missed out (and I know I missed some out).

Life at home is the same as always - nothings really changed except people have gotten taller, bigger and generally older. I'm at home on the farm at the moment enjoying doing nothing. Rob's down at Mokau with his family relaxing at the beach. He'll be back on the 31st and well we're not sure what we're doing for New Years Eve (if we're doing anything).

I'm back to uni soon and hopefully Rob gets a job really quickly and hopefully it's in Hamilton. I got a scholarship for my year at uni so I'm really happy about not having to spend our hard earned Korean money on that. We're having an engagement/we're home party at Robs parents on the 29th of Jan. Then it's Robs birthday on the 3rd of Feb. Then my hens (bachelorette) weekend is on the 9th and 10th of Feb. at Whangamata beach. A lot coming to keep us busy before the wedding that's for sure.

Anyway, keep in touch and hope to see everyone in NZ soon and all you others send us an email!
